The application of ductile iron castings in automobile

Ductile iron castings have been rapidly developed as second only to gray cast iron, which is widely used in cast iron materials. The so-called "iron and steel", mainly referring to ductile iron.
Ductile iron castings used in automotive three main places:
(1) power supply - engine parts;
(2) Power transmission- gear and shaft sleeve.
(3) Car was suspended, brakes and steering. Power source of the crankshaft is under continuous change of bending, torsion and shear load of parts, and within its service life, want to loop one billion times. Most automotive gasoline engine in the world is mount ductile iron crankshaft instead of forged steel crankshaft, this application is regarded as a typical example of value engineering.
